Schmucker's Produce Farm was another one of my Saturday visits. This Amish run store and farm is located at 12815 Doty Road, New Haven, IN. To drive there take 37 North (Maysville Rd) out of Fort Wayne. After driving through the 469 cloverleaf, you will pass Irving Rd and then you will come to Doty Rd. Turn right onto Doty road and drive approximately 1 mile. Watch for a row of five greenhouses on the left hand (North) side of the road, they mark the Schmucker property. They are open 9am-5pm, Monday-
Saturday, closed on Sundays. November 1st through April 1st, they are closed Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
The first things you see on entering is the grocery portion of the store. They offer grains, dried herbs, raw sugar, soup bases, seasonings, marinades, noodles, cereals, canned meats, beans, nuts, seeds, syrups, jams, apple butter, salsas, pickled eggs, candy, pop corn, you name it. Many of these items have a Schmucker's label on them, but some are packaged for them elsewhere. This is very similar to Hilger's Farm Market on US 30, on the west side of Fort Wayne. All of this is laid out in long spacious isles, much like that of any grocery and you are provided with a cart. Then there is also a small fresh cheese section and a large expansive produce section, pictured above. If a produce item is their own, they clearly label it as such. I bought their strawberries and their broccoli. Both of which were excellent!

Does Schmucker's have sweet potato plants that produce sweet potatos?
